Who is this person doing the Blogs in the Ultimate Blog Challenge? I think that is a fair question.
This is not my first time in the Blog Challenge. I do feel like I am still learning.
I really feel like a new blogger because I don’t write on a consistent basis. That is why I joined the challenge in February. Hoping it would help me get consistent. Unfortunately, I could not keep up with the daily writing and I dropped out.
That is so not like me. Once I start something, I plan to finish. I guess my confidence as a blogger wasn’t strong enough yet and I let life interrupt my writing.
My Beginnings
I could go all the way back. I think I might lose you before you get much farther.
Briefly, I am a Registered Nurse for many years. I loved being a nurse. There was something inside telling me there’s more to me. I just wasn’t sure how to let her out.
Then one day Network Marketing was introduced to me. Well, that actually started my journey in which brought me here.
When my children were young I wondered how I could stay home and still bring in a check. There was my answer.
I enjoyed learning my business. I saw it as an extension of my nursing, helping people get healthy. At least get healthier than they might have been. I did help a lot of people.
Unfortunately, no one wanted to do the business with me, my downline that is. With that my upline didn’t pay much attention to me as I was not bringing in people to help grow their money intake.
Don’t get me wrong, they helped me at first. Oh My Gosh, they had too. I didn’t learn any thing like Network Marketing in nurses training.
I honestly stopped actively finding people after awhile as no one wanted to go out to meetings anymore.
A Brilliant Idea
Yes, I had this idea to bring my business online. Actually, a friend in the same company had taken hers online.
I didn’t really know Social Media. Yes, I could get email and I had a cell phone and I even had Facebook account, thanks to my daughter setting it up.
My friend introduced me to a company that taught people how to bring their business online. Ok, I am a smart person, I can learn this.
The unfortunate part of that for a couple aspects was it cost a lot of money and as they would guide me to the videos they had, I didn’t know the terminology. That for me was a double whammy!!!
I didn’t know overwhelm until I got here. Again there wasn’t really anyone I could really reach out to. Anyone that I felt had the time or interest to help. I only really knew 1 person in this community anyway. She helped as much as her schedule would allow.
Finally, I started stepping back. By that I mean I was tired of giving Facebook my money on ads that were not converting. Actually, no one ever told me this and I didn’t really know enough to put two and two together. My $5 a day ads were competing against the BIG GUNs that were doing hundreds and even thousands of dollar on ads. So lesson learned. Boy, I have had many lessons learned. I can say this now, I understand why and how come I had to go through that. It introduced me to a lot of friends also.
A New Community
As time would have it one of the friends from the online community reached out to me and wanted to introduce me to the community she had moved to. The moment I saw it, saw the people, heard the plans I was there.
This community is an entrepreneurial community. They get the struggles entrepreneurs have when building a business. I have learned from entrepreneurs. They talk my language!!! Or at least a language I understand.
I know now I had to take the journey above as I am teaching people on Facebook. I didn’t see this coming. Teaching is what I know, as a nurse and knowing how I struggled I don’t want anyone to struggle like that if I can help it.
Oh my gosh, I wrote my first ebook too! Who is this woman?
This Blog challenge is going to really help me get consistent this time too.
So now you know a little bit more about me. I really enjoy where I am at and I am building that Laptop Lifestyle the young me wanted but didn’t know what to call it back then.
To Your Success,
Deb

Hi Deb. So nice to “meet” you! I am also a Registered Nurse. Marketing in my current role is difficult for me too, which is why I signed up for this challenge. I can certainly relate to wanting to help people as a nurse. I continue to be a patient advocate through their attorneys now!
I’m glad you found something that helped to become successful online. And congratulations on writing your book! Where can we find it?
Hey Deb I am so glad we connected in one group and then reconnected in the entrepreneur community!! Love watching you grow and share your knowledge through your course and your book!!!
You got this! I believe in you! None of this is easy and they didn’t teach social media and digital marketing when we were in school – right? I think it is okay to say you are a newbie and then seek out the help you need to get better. As for the confidence part, that is a constant battle, right? But, know you aren’t an imposter and you can do this like everyone else and be a success. Good luck!
Thank you Elisa. I would like to say it has been fun. At least those first few years weren’t. It has gotten better and I am still learning that is more fun.
