You are new or maybe not so new doing your online business. Are you giving value in your posts? Are you doing videos for your business?

This blog has some affiliate links to products that I use. This means if you would make a purchase of any of the products, I may receive a commission but there is no extra cost to you.

Are You Doing Videos For Your Business?

As an entrepreneur we have to get people to know us, like us and trust us. This doesn’t matter if you have a brick and mortar or network marketer online or doing “belly to belly”. It is essential if you are going to be successful to have people trust you. If there is trust, they will buy anything from you.

How do you start building that trust? You have to get yourself out in front of them. How do you do that? Letting them know who you are by posting value for them.

Value can be something about you. They want to know the whole you, the good, the bad, the ugly!!

Posting is one way on Facebook or LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram. You get the picture. Choose your social media platform and be consistent there.

A sure fire way for people to learn about you quickly is video. Doing videos is the fastest way.

Why? As your audience sees you, hears you and maybe after awhile of watching you they start to comment back as you are doing your videos.

I went back and have my first video I ever have done!!! It definitely was not perfect.

I hope you got a chuckle from this. As you see I just did it. I was actually trying to be “Professional” and have my husband video me as I am talking and walking. You saw how that turned out.

Don’t be afraid to just do it. Your first LIVE video will not be perfect and that is ok. No one can live up to PERFECT.

Just have fun and get started. Does not matter what you say to them. You are introducing yourself to them.

I can’t tell you how many comments, hearts, and likes I got while I was doing this video and not all family either.

Still not sure and need some encouragement, or even just how to set it up, here’s my calendar link and let’s chat.

Maybe you know someone that needs to get started, share this blog with them.

To Your Success,

Deb

Deb this was such a great post. I need to go back and find my first video. I remember doing a million takes. Back then we didn't have live video so I was able to delete ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the inspiration.

      • Deb Andrews

Thank you, Hilary, for commenting. It is good when you can laugh at yourself but it also shows you have much you have grown by watching that first video.

Video is definitely the wave of future marketing! Thanks for the reminder to do it & to be myself!

      • Deb Andrews

Isabel thank you for commenting. And definitely be yourself!

    • Heidi Albertson

This is great and so is doing live video. I have gotten out of the practice of that. You have some good points too. Thanks for sharing your first.

It took me awhile to do that first one however I do enjoy them now. If there is a mess up it is what it is! Thank you for commenting.

This is very scary for me! I know that you're right but I haven't tried a video yet. You've got me thinking about it now.

      • Deb Andrews

Victoria, that is what I wanted to do, get you to at least think a little more about doing it. That is why I chose my very first one and I am here still doing video. I believe I have improved very much since then! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for commenting.

I love that you did this video. Itโ€™s so hard to put yourself out there. Good for you!

      • Deb Andrews

Cheryl, thank you for commenting. Yes it was hard back then. I just wanted to show it doesn’t have to be perfect. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have not done a video. I think Iโ€™d feel so self-conscious and silly. But my boys keep telling me to make a YouTube channel. Who has the time?

I feel like blogging I can pick up whenever, and videos Iโ€™d have to edit, etc. maybe the live option would be good, but I have this idea that I would not want people to see all of my background junk. We are in construction, and it doesnโ€™t feel too settled.

Iโ€™m glad you posted this. It feels less daunting after seeing the sheer honesty of yours.

      Blessings,

Laurie, Thank you for commenting. I did not mention how long it took to work up the nerve to do it. I believe knowing we were going to visit the chapel gave me the courage as I felt, at the time, I had something to talk about. You just have to do it. People don’t want perfect because perfect is hard to follow. Get your boys in with you. Talk about something together that you can have a conversation with them on video. They would have fun and it is much easier when you have someone with you at least for the first time or so. Who knows if you get a You Tube, it does have a free version, the things you can help people with. ๐Ÿ™‚

I applaud your courage to just go live!
While I'm sure the chapel and the staircase are fascinating, what I liked most was your bling-bling sunglasses ๐Ÿ˜‰
Liked and commented on YouTube – I do videos myself, so I know every interaction is much appreciated.

Hi Tamara, Thank you for commenting. This was so scary when I did it many years ago and not perfect by any means. I put that in my blog to show that it is ok to not be perfect and don’t wait to be perfect.
